Nederlands Exposition in Auschwitz Dutch people in Auschwitz

Ronnie Goldstein-van Cleef, 1921-2008

You had to stand in line, naked, walk along the wall, around it, forward and there sat Mengele and on the other side the Aufseherin (overseer). If you were cleared you had to show her your number, which she wrote down. I was truly panicking; there was no way to go. Every time I walked a bit backwards to buy some more time. I cannot explain it, but all of a sudden I was standing on the other side of that wall.
