Nederlands Exposition in Auschwitz Dutch people in Auschwitz

Flora Schrijver-Jacobs, 1923

Out of 150 women, who had all said they play the drums, I was taken together with two others to the conductor of the orchestra, the violinist Alma Rosé. She only needed one musician, an accordionist. She said: "your playing is just awful, but I like Dutch people. I was married to a Dutch engineer. I will try to save your life. I will try to teach you the score."
